– Meghan (NonSociety) Sorry Meghan but you’ve gotta be the stupidest gadget blogger on the planet. Since when do all gadgets need to be ‘useful’ in the sense that they vacuum your sorry ass room or get you a juice from your fridge? Pleo was the most innovative idea since the Sony...

Quick Javascript tip
davidkaneda: Name all functions, especially ones that are typically anonymous: $("a").click(function linkClickHandler(e) { $("b").each(function bIterator() { // an error or expensive operation happens here }); }); Your stack traces and profiling logs become much more descriptive. (via)

How I'd 'fix' MySpace
I had this litle blurb on the back burner not sure whether I’d post it but I figured what the heck. Jason Calacanis wrote about it, probably because he really thinks MySpace would consider hiring him as their new CEO. I don’t have this kind of delusions of grandeur. I do however have some ideas on how what once was the king of social networking sites can be greatly improved. Fixed...

Pagerank: 3
At some point, the Google Pagerank for my blog dropped from 6 to 3. For no good reason. With almost 17k backlinks. I’ll never understand the evil empire of Google.

Just out of curiosity really. I have 187 followers at the moment of posting. With this amount I usually get no more than 5 or so answers to a question. How many do you need to get a whole lot?

So… you’re saying here that you like it not because you actually like it but… because you ‘have to’ ? I didn’t think Facebook was THAT powerful yet… ;)

MySpace, you have a @#$@#$ communication problem!
Small morning rant! I’m getting SERIOUSLY pissed with MySpace and the complete inability to contact anyone on there. I mean, what the @#$!@#$??? This is customer relations / support at it’s VERY WORST. First of all: It’s completely IMPOSSIBLE to contact ‘Tom’. I suppose he gets too much bullshit messages every day to cope with but still. There should be some way...

A reply to Ben
Ben doesn’t have comments so I’m using the reblog function here to reply to his reblog of my earlier article about MySpace. benw: So, if we first put aside for a moment Marco’s, erm, ‘opinionated’ view on Facebook’s organisation — doubly so since MySpace is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who’s not exactly heaven’s most famous angel. I’m getting an odd...

FaceBook's got nothing on this stuff!
A few days ago I did a MySpace profile for bookalicio.us (the profile). When getting started I realized how much this place changed after they implemented ‘Profile 2.0’. I had seen it before but I thought they just made the profile building easier for dummies. I suppose they did, but they also added the ability to enter CSS. And their markup is now pretty much W3C compliant. Since I...

MySpace - it's not THAT 'ghetto' anymore!
For the first time ever I just created a MySpace Profile 2.0 layout. Even though MySpace is still rather messy I must admit that it has improved a lot (not hard I guess given how horrible it used to be). The markup is still pretty crappy but: MySpace Profiles 2.0 allows plain vanilla CSS to be used to style the page. Weird hacks with CSS stuffed the ‘about me’ box are now a thing of...
