Buy your way to Heaven! The Catholic Church brings... →
These days, you can get a deal on anything. Even salvation! Pope Benedict has announced that his faithful can once again pay the Catholic Church to ease their way through Purgatory and into the Gates of Heaven.  Sorry Ratzinger, I spent it on a fast car. I’ll drive it straight to hell, and back.

Well FUCK you, PETA.
dianaka555: bathsabbath: Always reblog this. A lot of the animals they kill (and they kill over 95% of the animals they take in at their Virginia Headquarters) are killed within 24 hours. Not nearly enough time to deem whether an animal is adoptable or not. They even bought a giant fridge to store the corpses!        PETA is a corporation. Not a charity.  Less than 1% of their 32 Million+...

I've seen about 20 minutes of a Twilight movie
The fact that this is as popular as it is just made me permanently lose the little bit of faith in humanity I had left.

Promise of the American Dream is broken →
I’m lucky to have a good job and to be in a field in which it would be easy to get a new one if needed but for most people there’s really nothing left here in America. I can’t imagine anyone who without the prospect of getting a good job here wanting to migrate here. It’s effectively been hollowed out by the elite. What a shame for such a great country.

lickystickypickywe: In Brazil’s Beach Park stands The Insano. It is the highest water slide in the world at 41 meters high, a record listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Its height is equivalent to that of a 14-storey building. As a consequence of its height and slope, this water slide provides an extremely rapid descent - taking between four and five seconds - at a speed of 105 km/h....

antigovernmentextremist: Beginning research on my main persuasive topic for argument & analysis. I’ve chosen to argue for the privatization of education in America. If any of you have good resources for me that contain good data that I can cite please let me know! Most nations do NOT have privatized education because it’s a HORRIBLE idea that wastes insane amounts of human...

Is Pope Ratzinger Suffering From the Seven-Year... →
During his time there, and as a top aide to the late Pope John Paul II, Ratzinger oversaw a range of investigations into priests, theologians, nuns and church groups perceived as straying too far left for Rome’s conservative tastes. That earned Ratzinger, a German theologian, a host of epithets, such as the “Panzerkardinal” and “God’s Rottweiler” – harsh nicknames that Ratzinger’s fans...

GOP Unveils Plan to Gut Food Stamp Program →
stfuconservatives: Politico reports that the changes mean “an average family of four would face an 11 percent cut in monthly benefits after Sept. 1 and, even more important, tighter enforcement of rules would require that households exhaust most of their liquid assets before qualifying for help.“  The Associated Press adds that elegibility changes would knock 3 million people off the program...

–  —President Obama in a statement on today’s vote (via barackobama) The Buffet Rule amounts to a drop in the bucket when confronted with our towering budget deficits and national debt. Meanwhile unemployment remains above the 8% mark your administration promised us the 800 billion dollar stimulus...
