The email I have send to Tumblr.

While you don’t see any changes, I do. I am noticing that on my dash there are 2 types of posts that were not there before Tumblarity. There are the reblog pictures, simple images that only say: “reblog if you like/dislike this or that”. In the last week, my dash has been spammed with multiple of these reblog-requests. For example, there is a picture that says: “Reblog if you approve gay marriage”. I for one approve of gay marriage, and if I look at the notes this picture has gotten, a lot of other people approve too. The point is, did the maker of this image really wanted to show his message? To be quite honest, I think not. I believe that the creator of this type of image is to make a image with a opinion most people agree with, getting reblogs because everyone wants to show their opinion and get points. Like I said, my opinion is that it’s for the points, because A) these images were not made before tumblarity and B), because of the huge ammount of different images.

The second type of posts I have seen growing on my dash is the ” like and reblog, I want/need this amount of likes on reblogs” .Those begging posts are, on my dash, growing and growing. Before Tumblarity they were begging posts too, but since the introduction of Tumlarity I have seen the amount of these type of posts increase.

That is why I do see a contest going on and to be quite honest, it annoys me and clutters my dashboard.

If you not have experienced problems after Tumblarity was added, then that great and then I see why you think we overreact. But from my point of view, Tumblr is becoming more and more of a contest.

I’m pretty sure these people will stop doing this as soon as they find out that many will start unfollowing them, resulting in the exact opposite effect: a decreased Tumblarity.

Honestly, Tumblr is a social community. The community itself will easily take care of idiots who do this stuff. You can start today! Unfollow those people!
